The Labour Government (in office from 1997 to 2010) had an initiative whereby an amount of £10,000 was offered to each and every Ward on an environmental project of their choice.
RAW was responsible for the choice of work within Westborough Ward.
We decided that gating the smaller alleyways would help prevent some of the fly tipping.
RAW administered and organised the Alley Gating of around 50 (TBD) or more of the smaller alleyways in Westborough Ward.
The alleys are gated by black metal gates of a rectangular design with a horizontal top.
RAOW 2012 keeps the legal records of the Alley Gate Project and is currently compiling a full and updated list of the metal alley gates and their current condition.
Further details to follow.
